What Makes Newsworthy?


We hear about news from all around the world every day, but not everything is newsworthy. For instance, Mao Tse-tung’s death was not announced for several days. Yet, it was still news. Of course, things happen all the time. Some of them are even ordinary, but they don’t make news. For example, a 90-year-old man who continues to ride the bus would be newsworthy.
