What Is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment

Entertaiment is an activity understood objectively that communicates between text and audience, draws its energy from external stimulus, offers pleasure to its audience and occurs in a passive form. It also requires consumer activity that allows business survival. (Oliver and Barstsch 2010) It is interesting to note how familiar forms of entertainment have the capacity to cross over different mediums – for instance, Scheherazade, a story from the Persian professional storytelling tradition has inspired the work of composers Rimsky-Korsakov, Ravel and Szymanowski, film director Pasolini and an innovative video game.
